Choose a Career Using Your Fav Color

Okay, this is interesting! Take this color test, and it will tell you what career you're suited for. My result: "You're an Organizer." [A note: You can click right past the screen asking you to fill out an informational form. Okay, now you try it and tell me if it works.]

"These conservative appearing, plotting-types enjoy organizing, data systems, accounting, detail, and accuracy. They often enjoy mathematics and data management activities such as accounting and investment management. Persistence and patience allows them to do detailed paperwork, operate office machines, write business reports, and make charts and graphs." Some suggested careers for me: Financial Analyst, CPA, Operations Manager, Book keeper, Budget Analyst. Kinda freaky....

Callie & the Cotton Ball

Recently I had to buy a new container to keep my cotton balls in because everyday when I got home from work Callie was sneaking into my bathroom and stealing them. She would go get them from the open container and then take them into the bedroom to play with it. And I would be left with little pieces of cotton balls all over the carpet (what a mess!). So now I have a container that has a lid and she hasn't figured out a way to get in there yet. I took this video especially for Megster because I knew she would love it =)

R.I.P. Ruth E. McDaniel

June 16, 1916 - January 29, 2010

We lost my dear Grandma Ruth 1+ week ago after 93 years of life. We just had her funeral this past Thursday. It was very tough for me - cried a lot, but she is definitely in a better place. The past year had been rough for us seeing her health & mind go significantly down hill. I have a LOT of great memories with her that I will cherish forever. I still really can't believe she's gone. But it is ironic that the day of her funeral it was 40 degrees and very sunny. We've been in between snow storms the past 2 weekends, but the clouds moved away and God brought out the sun. He knows grandma always hated being cold! And now I'm snowed in with 12-18 inches of snow.

This picture was from Christmas 2008. It was one of her first times playing the Wii bowling - as you can see she was very excited about it. And she actually did good for a 90 year old.

New Year's Resolution(s)

Normally I don't like to make a habit of making New Year's resolutions...it's just something else to not do & then be mad at yourself. But this year I've created a few that I think will be easy to accomplish:

1. Make one new recipe a week (considering I don't cook much, this should be attainable for me)

2. Start to run more - I don't think I will do this until it gets warmer outside, but I'd like to 'enjoy' running more. I've been working out, but I think if I start running it will really pick up my game!

3. Make a quilt

4. Lose another 10 lbs (this past year I probably lost about 25 lbs total. I'm starting to feel great, but I could stand to lose another few - esp for Lins' wedding in May 2010)

Hope everyone had a great holiday & a Happy New Year :)

More Christmas Decorations

Since I've already showed my tree, I wanted to put up a few more pics of my other decorations. This one I'm very proud of! I made this latch hook piece probably 15+ years ago. I'm so glad my mom saved it, so now I can use it as part of my yearly decorations. I remember it taking forever for me to finish this - but it turned out pretty good. And I'm glad it's something I will actually use - not like most of the other random latch hook stuff you see in Wal-mart.

These are vases I just got as a free gift from Ulta for buying perfume. Of course I already had the brightly colored decorations to throw in there. But I'm excited because I can use these all year round =)

This, of course, is my cute cat! But that's not why I took this picture. The Christmas tree thing is something my mom quilted for me last year. It's supposed to go in the center of a coffee table, but since I don't have one I thought it would go perfectly here. It matches the khaki color perfectly! My mom also made the papasan cushion cover - thank God for moms!!!
